Israeli Attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque - Reference No. 210511-IAA

—FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—

SYDNEY (May 11, 2021): The Islamic Forum for Australian Muslims (IFAM) strongly condemns Israeli Forces’ attack especially during the Holy month of Ramadan on Palestinians in Qibla-e Awaal, Al-Aqsa Mosque, violating all norms of humanity & international laws. We echo support for Palestinian people. Australian Government and International community must take urgent action to protect Palestinians & their legitimate human rights. IFAM stands with the Palestinians community against the hate attack made whilst worshipers on the last 10 day of Ramadan. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go to the victims and their loved ones.

Dozens of Jewish settlers, led by Itamar Ben-Gvir, a far-right member of Knesset, marched to the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and watched as Israeli forces assaulted Palestinian residents and protesters it is totally unacceptable. IFAM condemns the violence going on in Jerusalem, calls on Israel not to evict Palestinians from their homes in East Jerusalem, and urge for restraint.

As, we pray for a just peace in Palestine, our hearts are shattered by the Israeli – state violence in East Jerusalem and third holiest Mosque. The Islamic Forum for Australian Muslims is a leading Australian Muslim organisation dedicated to the betterment of society through the application of Islamic values. Since 1993, IFAM has worked to build relations between communities by devoting itself to education, outreach, social services and relief efforts.
